Wow was my patience tested today

UNFORTUNATELY, when I had my hitch installed on my SUV, the person that installed it did not do it correctly. I knew this immediately because my trailer has never had brakes, but I just ignored it for the most part because I felt comfortable and in control.

Well, the snow scared me.

I decided since I was going to be staying on the Oregon coast for a few days to go around to the local auto repair places and see if anyone could re-wire my hitch to give me axillary and break power. I should say, most of this I am just writing for myself, (kind of like a journal) but I guess I will explain in case someone else reads this. There are two types of plugs (that I know of) for trailer hook ups. One is a four prong plug that will give the trailer lights and the other is a 6 prong plug that also includes axillary power (charge your RV/boat/whatever battery while hooked up to your car) and brakes for those trailers that come with brakes. The dude that hooked up my trailer did not wire the additional two wires so I haven’t had those two things for this past month. I guess I’m kind of crazy (yeah?) for going this long without brakes but I’m alive, aren’t I?

SO anyways, a nice guy ended up saying he could help me after going to two places before that. He told me to come back on Thursday (today) morning and so I did. I went and did laundry and took a shower while waiting thinking this would take up most of the time but low and behold, TEN HOURS LATER, I finally get my car back. TEN. HOURS. He said his employee didn’t show up so he didn’t even start working on my vehicle until like 11 but what could I do? I needed it done and I don’t have the luxury of shopping around.

Anyways, he was so nice about it so I couldn’t really say anything, not that I would have, but my insides were boiling by like hour 6 so hours 6–10 were literal torture.

It ended up being cheaper than he told me, probably because he felt bad I sat there ALL DAY, but I gladly would have paid more to have those 5 hours back.

I came back, put my laundry away, fed my cats, and stress ate frosted animal crackers until I felt sick. typical.

Trying to head out tomorrow to check out Bend, OR. Its’ free to camp over there! Hopefully with brakes :)
